Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cooking time: 5 minutes

Difficulty: 2/10

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 250 g Ile de France Brie
  • 100 g flour
  • 1 egg
  • 200 g panko (breadcrumbs)
  • 1 L sunflower for frying
For topping:
  • 50 g walnuts
  • 50 g dried cranberries
  • 2 tbsp parsley
  • 50 ml maple syrup Maple Joe
  • 16 pcs pretzel sticks

Method

  1. Cut the Brie into small triangles (8 pcs/cheese).
  2. Put the flour on a plate. In a bowl beat the egg, and on another plate put the panko.
  3. Dip every cheese piece in the flour, then the egg, and lastly the panko, making sure they are fully covered.
  4. Heat the oil in a pan. Fry the Brie “trees” for 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy on the outside. Remove from the pan and place on absorbing paper.
  5. Remove the sticks from each piece of cheese and add a pretzel stick in their place.
  6. Place the Brie “trees” on a plate.
  7. Drizzle each tree with some maple syrup, add the chopped walnuts, cranberries, and parsley, and serve.
