Ingredients for 4 Portions

1200gr beef chuck eye roll  cut in cubes

1kg peeled shallots

100gr butter

800ml red wine

100ml red vinegar

1 Ceylon cinnamon stick

2 cloves

1/4 orange

1 bay leaf

1 star anise

Salt / Pepper


  1. In a deep pot, melt the butter and sauté the beef cubes until they are golden brown.
  2. Remove the beef from the pot and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  3. Add sautéd beef and then add vinegar, wine, orange and spices.
  4. Cover with lid and cook at low heat until tender. Stir occasionally.
