Slow Cooked Beef, Flavoured with Orange

Ingredients for 4 Portions
1200gr beef chuck eye roll cut in cubes
1kg peeled shallots
800ml red wine
100ml red vinegar
1 Ceylon cinnamon stick
1 bay leaf
1 star anise
Salt / Pepper
- In a deep pot, melt the butter and sauté the beef cubes until they are golden brown.
- Remove the beef from the pot and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add sautéd beef and then add vinegar, wine, orange and spices.
- Cover with lid and cook at low heat until tender. Stir occasionally.
