Ingredients for 4 portions

1ltr red wine

200gr sugar

1 cinnamon stick Ceylon

1 star anise

2 cloves

1 orange

1 red apple


  1. In a small pot warm the wine at 45c and pour in the sugar and let it dissolve.
  2. Add cinnamon, cloves, star anise, half an apple and cut orange slices and keep cooking in a low heat at 45c for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Serve the Gluehwein warm with some sliced apple and orange.
